at the World’s Fair
In Dubai

The delegation of Serbia, consisting of 60 companies, scientific and educational institutions and institutions, as well as science and technology parks and innovation centers, will present their innovations and projects at the world exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” during the 4th thematic week “Knowledge and Learning” that started today and will last until December 18.

Businessmen and representatives of scientific and educational institutions, institutions, and organizations will present the world Serbian achievements and establish contacts with potential partners from the United Arab Emirates and representatives of other countries participating in the World Exhibition.

Members of the Serbian delegation will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge at the international level, with the aim of understanding the ways and possibilities of educating staff for the future, says Mirjana Kovacevic, head of the Center for Education, Dual Education and Education Policies in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) and director of Business Academy of CCIS.

“Within this thematic week, new methods, tools, instruments, and learning techniques will be presented, but it will also be an opportunity to analyze the ways on how to increase access to education, exchange experiences on the challenges in learning processes posed by pandemic, and present innovations in all spheres of importance for economy and society,” said Kovacevic.

The delegation consists of state and private institutions of higher education, economic entities, science and technology parks, and innovation centers.

Mila Milenković, Director of the Strategy Department of Telekom Srbija, states that “Telekom Serbia“, in order to increase its innovation capacity, as well as to enable the transfer of knowledge and ideas with value chain companies, startups, and educational institutions, intends to present itself through the Open innovation and invite various companies and representatives of the academic community to join in the implementation of plans and the use of knowledge in the development of innovation ”.

A special topic during the fourth thematic week will be artificial intelligence, as well as digitalization in education, the dual model of vocational education, and other areas regarding the future of learning.

The Development Agency of Serbia and the Operational Team for Serbia’s Expo 2020 DUBAI are organizing the second investment conference on December 13th at the Serbian Pavilion, which will present investment opportunities in the automotive sector with a focus on electric mobility, chemical, and rail vehicles.

The growing trend of investing in sustainable transport, e-mobility, and new technologies in production in the transport sector is an opportunity for Serbia to position itself as an industry leader in this part of Europe, and Expo Dubai is the right place to approach investors in these three sectors and establish contact for new investments. The investment conference will be opened by the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Branko Ružić.

As part of a diverse business program designed for our delegation, B2B meetings of businessmen are planned for December 14th, while the Business Day of Serbia will be organized on December 15th at the Pavilion.

Participation in the World Exhibition is provided for Serbian businessmen with preferential conditions, free airline tickets and local transfers, accommodation at discounted prices in selected hotels, as well as free use of the Serbian Business Hub in the South Dubai Free Zone.

Under the slogan “Connecting minds, creating the future”, the world exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” started on October 1, 2021, and will last until March 31, 2022.
