Institute of Archaeology was founded in 1947 by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and became the leading scientific institution. Research of the Institute, as unique and central archaeological scientific-research institution, is financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. Today, institute with its 67 experts is among the most prominent institutions that has specialists for all periods, covering all methodological approaches and working with the newest equipment.
